Did you know… that in leadership, there’s a powerful shift that can transform our approach, and make us much more effective. It’s focusing on our Circle of Influence, versus our Circle of Concern.
For clarity, our Circle of Concern might include “big picture things” that worry us like –recession and economic uncertainties; unexpected changes in our company structure, leadership, or strategy; or maybe an employee personal challenge.
And while these issues are important, and we are conscious of them — if it’s out of our immediate control – we must be careful not to allow these issues to overcome our effectiveness, drain our energy, and distract us from what we CAN immediately impact and change.
On the other hand, our Circle of Influence is where we CAN make a real difference. It’s our personal and professional relationships, our actions and behaviors, and our leadership. It’s what WE can immediately impact – and where our efforts can truly drive change.

And, when WE focus on what WE can influence – like motivating, inspiring, empowering or team, and collaborating with others – WE can tremendously expand our impact. And in turn, we create a culture of positivity and action that spreads far beyond our immediate control.
Remember, great leaders focus on their Circle of Influence. So, shift your focus STARTING TODAY, and you’ll begin to see change – not just in your work, but in the people around you.
